4D Construction Learning Environment

Team face-to-face meeting at UQ

Monday, 28 Jul 2014

The full project team met in person for the first time on Wednesday 23rd July, at the start of a two-day face-to-face meeting at UQ.  The meeting agenda included sessions on project progress and scope as well as forward planning. The team also worked on scenarios and learning activity outlines.  Advice from members of the AEB construction project group as well as our own reference group informed this process. The team re-affirmed that the 4D Construction Learning Environment project is a demonstration project and that the focus of the research element should be on evaluating the usability of the digital application in tandem with a range of learning activities, comparing disciplines and varying student cohorts (study levels as well as on-campus vs distance study mode).   Another outcome of the meeting was a prioritised list of building section walk-throughs that will provide the scenarios for problem-based learning activities. The first walk-through will focus on the construction of the auditorium, with each team member developing a discipline-specific learning activity utilising one or more construction issues encountered during this section of the build.
