This project aims to provide a suite of interactive interdisciplinary learning activities that address issues of access to live construction project sites for students in construction related professional disciplines. Key to this is the development of a 4-dimensional learning environment using time-lapse digital images captured during the construction of the University of Queensland Advanced Engineering Building.

The partner institutions will collaborate on this project across four construction related professions – architecture, construction management, engineering and building surveying. The project will establish a suite of interactive and interdisciplinary problem-based learning activities to test the effectiveness of the 4D construction learning environment. These are intended to form the basis of a construction library that can be expanded over time to include different building types, construction methods and environmental conditions.

Year 1 of the project comprises a development and pilot phase with a trial and evaluation phase following in Year 2. See project particulars for more detail.
